『a Walk into 』 is a new book about Park Sunmin's solo show <A Walk into you, 2022> that features the memories and interpretations of authors and designers after a year had passed. The observation of the inside of the body visualized in the exhibition venue with three spaces was structured into three volumes in this book. The experience of walking through the exhibition space from the entrance to the last floor is converted into a reading experience. The first volume on thinking embraces the next volume on skin and skeleton, and the last volume with works on emotion is protected at the heart of the book. A translucent sleeve covers three volumes like skin tissue from the outside.

"...PARK Sunmin’s work consists of clinging onto the numerous pieces of every today fragmented in the name of daily routine, ruminating on the current coordinates, and imagining future’s orientation which cannot be calculated. Therefore A Walk into You does not (or cannot) head toward a completed prefabricated meaning and narrative with a period planted at the end. Her gestures are like exploring the inde_nable (in language) future and orientation (All Angles of Time), being sensitive to the fragile senses surrounding her, searching for the current location which is momentarily halted between the past and the future, like Pivot which coordinates are set vertically here and now, even though rather fragile. Hence the present is drifting among countless possibilities and numerous choices and PARK brings it to sublimation into gesture — image — of which linguistic de_nition has been rendered meaningless. This path of walking toward you (a walk into you) amid connections of dots and in the _ow of lines recorded without a conclusion is a step taken to leave myself and to approach others to share the past. It is also a question of asking where I should be headed, questioning where today exists, while I have returned to myself after penetrating others."

신간 < a Walk into > 는 저자와 디자이너가 1년의 거리를 두고 기억하고 해석한 박선민의 개인전 <A Walk into You, 2022>에 대한 이야기이다. 세 개의 공간이 있는 전시장에서 시각화된 신체 내부 관찰은 이 책에서 세 권으로 구성되어 있다. 입구부터 마지막 층까지 전시 공간을 걷는 경험은 독서 경험으로 전환되어 생각에 대한 첫 번째 권은 피부와 골격에 대한 다음 권을 포괄하고 감정에 대한 작업이 포함된 마지막 권은 중앙에서 보호되며. 반투명한 슬리브가 외부에서 피부 조직처럼 감싸안고 있다.

"...박선민의 작업은 일상이라는 이름 아래 파편화 되어 지나간 수많은 오늘을 부여잡아 지금의 좌표를 되새김질하고, 그것으로부터 가늠할 수 없는 내일의 방향을 상상하는 것이다. 그러므로 ‹A Walk into You›는 마침표가 찍힌 완결, 미리 정해진 의미와 서사를 향하지 않는다 (혹은 향할 수 없다). 그가 표출하는 몸짓은 (언어로) 정의할 수 없는 미래의 시간과 방향을 탐지하고(‹시간의 모든 각›), 주변의 연약한 감각들을 예민하게 감지하며 그저 지금, 여기에 연약하게나마 _수직으로 좌표를 찍고 있는 ‹피벗›과 같이 과거와 미래 사이 지금 잠시 멈추어선 현재의 위치를 살피는 일과 같다. 그렇기에 작가는 무수히 많은 가능성, 수많은 선택지의 사이에서 표류하는 현재를 언어적 정의가 산화된 몸짓 - 이미지 - 로 승화시킨다. 점의 연결과, 결론 없이 기록된 선의 흐름 안에서 너에게 걷는 이 _길(a walk into you)은 나를 떠나 타인에게 다가서서 지난 과거를 나누기 위한 한 걸음이자, 어디로 향해야 할지를 묻는 물음이며, 타인을 _통해서 다시 자신에게로 돌아와 실존하는 오늘의 위치를 묻는 일이라 할 수 있다....
