A photographic project created to mark the centenary of Sorokdo, which was established during the Japanese colonial period as an isolated settlement for people with Hansen’s disease.
The project captures the island’s distinctive mise-en-scène, formed by the historical scars of persecution endured by its residents during the colonial period, the ruins of modern architecture, and the natural environment preserved through decades of isolation and protection.
일제강점기에 조성된 한센인 환자들을 위한 보호구역인 소록도의 100주년을 맞아 진행한 사진 프로젝트.
소록도에서 살아온 한센인들이 일제강점기에 겪었던 박해의 역사적 상흔과 근대 건축의 폐허, 그리고 오랜 고립과 보호 속에 유지되어 온 섬의 자연이 만들어 내는 독특한 미장센을 담았다.
