All About Tremblig
The beauty of a city touches ugliness.
Perhaps a city
teaches us how to find beauty
where there seems to be none.
The tangled electrical wires
cutting across the urban sky
never truly end.
They become more intricately woven, more entangled,
busily carrying electricity
to make lifeless things operate
and keep the city functioning.
This dangerously powerful energy
is, perhaps, being carried safely
inside the insulated skin of the wires.
The moment birds perch
on these lines
that have been holding their danger in silence,
they suddenly become
a melody on a musical staff.
These tangled and precarious lines
are beautiful.
It is not so different
rom the contradiction of living and dying in the city,
enjoying it while dreaming of escape,
suffering from Seoul
and loving it
at the same time.
