Because the SeMA Nam-Seoul Museum of Art is a designated modern cultural heritage building, installing permanent barrier-free facilities such as an elevator or ramp was highly difficult. This temporary public art project introduced an accessible ramp as an interim intervention. A permanent ramp was installed after the project.

The way up, slow detour

The way is from the outside of daily life to the inside of art.

The detour takes longer than the straightaway, but the process of moving from daily life to art slowly and smoothly happens without any obstacles.

A slope, where the wheels can roll, is for the two legs also.

A stairway, where two legs can go up, is not for the wheels.

Thus the way for inviting two pedestrians should be a gentle slope.

An artistic experience is a somewhat different location, direction, pace, and means of life.
