I wrote the 770 whole botanical names of plants from the forest in Jeju Island in Korea. Jeju Island's forest, called Gotjawal, has a very unique eco system, because Gotjawal vegetation in Jeju Island is distributed in the lava zone, generated by volcanic activity. It is one of the rarest vegetation in the world, and belongs to the temperate forests. The window in the museum is facing one of Gotjawals, which are very endangered nowadays, because of over- tourism. So I wanted to recall the names of Plants as the real forest's owner.
제주도의 숲으로 이어지는 큰 창에 숲에서 만날 수 있는 770 종의 나무 이름들을 적은 작업. 제주도의 곶자왈은 화산활동으로 만들어진 용암지형으로 풍부하고 특징적인 생태계의 숲이며 세계적으로도 희귀한 식생의 온대 숲이다. 이 미술관 창문에 쓰여진 이름들은 과도한 관광산업으로 위기에 처한 곶자왈 숲을 향하고 있어 숲의 실제 주인들을 호명한다.
