daedong chronology 대동연보, 2019, ropes, engraved aluminum pipes commission by Via Art Daedong Hotel Art center 제주시 원도심에 50년 된 대동호텔의 역사를 기념한 커미션 작업이다. 대동 호텔을 운영해온 가족의 의미있는 과거 특정 년도와 먼 미래의 년도를 매칭해서 시간의 확장을 표현한 일종의 시간모델이다. 과거와 미래의 매칭은 시간의 비선형적인 인과관계를 은유하며, 세 개의 창에 설치된 로프 구조는 각각 제주의 자연이 보여주는 봄과 가을, 여름, 겨울을 다채로운 색과 형의 특징을 조형적으로 표현하고 있다. 이 작업은 시간을 일반적으로 선형적으로 이해하는 것과 추상적 시간을 년월일시분초 등의 시간단위로 측정하는 것에 대해 질문한다. 버수스는 2008년부터 2017까지 갤러리 팩토리를 통해 발행된 비정기 간행물로 그간 다양한 주제 아래 문학, 음악, 영화, 전시기획, 실험음악 등 다양한 분야의 전문가들이 필진으로 참여했다. 박선민은 이 잡지의 기획과 아트디렉팅을 맡아 각 호와 관계된 이미지를 생산하였다. 책이란 매체의 형식적인 좌우 구조를 기본으로 해서 좌우 이미지의 대비와 내용적으로는 이미지와 텍스트의 낯선 대비를 통해 양극단 사이의 다양한 거리와 상황들을 실험했다. 이 잡지의 내용적인 기획은 박선민의 신문으로 만든 시 작업의 후속적 실험으로 주제적으로 관계성이 없는 이미지와 텍스트를 책의 구조안에 매칭시킴으로 독자들에게 자신만의 해석을 유도하였다. 매 호의 이미지의 주제는 그 당시 박선민이 천착한 작업의 주제와 연결되어 다른 방식으로 잡지 안에서 보여줘왔으며, 십년간의 사진 아카이빙안에서 다시 새로운 이미지의 맥락을 발견하여 책의 공간이 아닌 현실 공간안에서 재해석하려고
